How we do it
Kick Start London provide support and housing
for homeless young people
Kick Start London have a range of safe, secure, affordable, temporary accommodation for single homeless young people. Most of it is in hostels or shared houses. All young people are interviewed before they are offered a place at Kick Start London. This is to make sure that they understand and want the service we offer, and that we believe we can support them with their issues.
Every resident in our accommodation has a named key worker, who provides them with individual packages of support. The staff and resident meet regularly to establish a support plan based on issues the resident wishes to resolve. Support plans are reviewed regularly with other professionals working with the young person.
When the resident has developed sufficient life skills to manage their own, independent accommodation, they are helped to move-on. Move-on will usually be to shared, privately rented accommodation. Move-on accommodation cannot be guaranteed as Kick Start London has none of their own.
